Social Support
Social support covers a wide range of activities including distributing clothes, blankets, mosquito nets and fishing nets.
A social support committee, consisting of volunteers from Mwandi Village, has been set up to identify the areas and children in most need in the Village.
The volunteers are members of the various churches and traditional sections.
A major role of the committee is to visit the homes of the children to assess their living conditions, meet the family and those responsible for the children.
In 2006 over 500 blankets were handed out to orphans and vulnerable children.
It can get very cold in Mwandi and most of the children sleep on the floor of mud huts.
Clothes are distributed monthly to each section.
